Well it has taken some time, okay, a lot of time, but we finally have the horses out on the new permanent track!
It is not the finished article, we still need to compact the earth more and finish the second string of electric wire, but it's good enough to use, so we're using it!
Here's a journey around the track, hopefully giving you a sense of the journey the horses will experience........
So far we have a boulder section, an experimental crushed tiles section, the sand pit (which is a bit grassed over at the moment!) and the stone-crunching-hoof-creating gravel section. Any ideas for further hoof conditioning surfaces gratefully received!

Before anyone mentions it - yes, that is Gareth stood by the fence about half way through the slideshow and no, he is not having a sneaky piddle - it just looks that way!
Hi Just looking, how about water?
Have you read "Paddock Paradise"? It would be very helpful. I would add some salt blocks and some rubber mats for feeding. Also, sand might be nice for rolling if you widen the fence a little. Good luck!
